Idaho Rivers United is for all who love the freedom, adventure and solitude of Idaho's wild rivers.
What we do:
- Our professional staff, members and volunteers work tirelessly to preserve and defend Idaho's most precious natural resources -- our rivers and our water.
- We challenge politicians, bureaucrats, special interest groups and ordinary citizens to become better stewards of Idaho's rivers.
- We educate citizens and state and federal policy makers on the need to keep our rivers healthy, clean and full of life.
- We collaborate with groups, government agencies and industries to find river conservation solutions that work for everyone.
- We have initiated a national effort to remove the four lower Snake River dams to save Idaho's wild salmon and steelhead from extinction.
- We advocate -- we take the case for responsible river stewardship to the state legislature and the halls of Congress.
- And, when necessary, we litigate to protect our rivers and streams from harmful or senseless human-caused damage.
Who we are:
- We are the only conservation group dedicated exclusively to protecting and restoring the rivers of Idaho.
- We are a result-driven, campaign-oriented, grassroots-based protector of our rivers and fish.
- Founded in 1990, Idaho Rivers United has over 3,400 members. We are funded by a combination of individual, foundation, corporate and government contributions. We are a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation.
If you love a river, support Idaho Rivers United and help protect the rivers you love. Annual memberships start as low as $35.
