If every person in Idaho picked up one piece of garbage from the side of a river, 1.6 million pieces of trash would be removed, and our rivers would be far more pristine and attractive. With your partnership we can start making that happen today.
Take a picture of your litter-filled bag and post it with the tags #whyiloveariver or #idahoriverclean. Or you can use this simple river clean-up report to log your data. (We’ll give monthly shout-outs and prizes!)
As the end of the year draws near, we’ll hold a drawing from among the names of everyone who’s participated in the Clean Campaign in 2016.
Don’t have a bag? Click here to get one, and we look forward to working with you to make our rivers cleaner and safer for everyone.
Other things you can do -- Your efforts at home can help prevent excess pollution in our water. Hazardous materials such as bleach, paint and cleaning products should never be poured down a drain or flushed down a toilet as they often flow into sources of ground and surface water. Pesticides and fertilizers should also be used in moderation as they seep into the soil and are flushed into groundwater.
