| Trout Friendly Lawns benefit Big Wood River |
 |
The Trout Friendly Lawns program is about wise water use in the Wood River Valley, where the river and communities are dependent on one another. The people of the Wood River Valley rely on the river for drinking water, recreation, quality of life and agriculture. The River relies on the people of the Wood River Valley for responsible stewardship.
In partnership with the Wood River Land Trust and nine additional local governments, local businesses and nonprofits, Idaho Rivers United is working to promote water conservation, water quality and valley fisheries in the Big Wood River basin through the Trout Friendly Lawns program.
Trout Friendly Lawns are water-wise, reduce or eliminate the use of synthetic fertilizers and herbicides and use native and drought-tolerant plants.
