Boise River, then and now—brown-bag lecture

  • Idaho Rivers United 3380 W. Americana Terrace Ste. 140 Boise, ID 83706

Bring your lunch and join us at the IRU office for a discussion on the Boise River by Mr. Boise River himself, John Heimer. John will discuss the different plant species along the river and how they affect the river and the riverbed. Having started working on the Boise River in 1965, John will give a firsthand account of its history from being the second most polluted river in Idaho with minimum stream flows, flooding, fish populations and recreational usage (past and present) to how the Clean Water Act played a part in what we treasure today.

After the discussion please join us on a stroll west on the recently constructed greenbelt behind the IRU offices.
