Final tally of comments close to 400,000; IRU submits detailed formal comments

Idahoans and others from throughout the Pacific Northwest said enough is enough on the lower Snake River where four deadbeat dams continue to waste taxpayer dollars will killing endangered wild salmon.

When it was all said and done, nearly 400,000 people from across the United States submitted comments calling for change on the lower Snake during a federal scoping process that concluded earlier this month.

Comments in general encourage federal agencies to carefully, thoroughly and fairly consider the costs, benefits, opportunities and trade-offs associated with removal of four federal dams on the lower Snake River to protect and recover endangered wild salmon and steelhead, and keep communities whole.
