Business Partnerships

Working together to protect our rivers and wild fish.

We appreciate the businesses across the region who partner with us to make a difference for our rivers.

Meet a few of our partners, and find out how your business can help protect our rivers.

Across industry and region, IRU business partners help protect our rivers and the health of our waterways through supporting and engaging in our work. Whether through projects, events, fundraising to give back to their community, advocacy work, or engaging in conservation, they work to further the mission of IRU and protect and restore our rivers.

How to become a business partner to IRU

There are many ways for your business to partner with IRU and help protect Idaho’s incredible rivers, wild fish, and keep our water clean. Please email our Development Manager, Ren Lawson at ren@idahorivers.org for more information.

Here are a few of our business partnership programs:

  • Join IRU’s membership as a Corporate Partner and know your membership dollars will help to clean water initiatives, restorative actions for native fish and continual pursuit of wild and scenic rivers. Select your dollar amount for your annual donation that works for your company’s budget.

  • IRU hosts several events annually some draw in 200-400 people in attendance; Salmonfest, Auction for the Rivers, River Run, Film Festivals, River Clean-ups.

In-Kind Gifts or Business Partner Hosts Days – Donating items/gift certificates/gift baskets to events such as the auction, OR host an IRU day at your business with % of that day’s sales going to IRU. IRU will make sure to help advertise the day, highlight your products and get our members involved.

  • This is our longest running partnership program, originally starting with our Outfitter friends. Your customers are given the option at check out or during trip payments to donate by rounding up or add a dollar a day (or more) to Idaho Rivers United, when they sign up for trips on the river that goes back to Idaho Rivers. Then businesses pass these gifts on to Idaho Rivers United at the end of season. Participating outfitters and businesses have reported that 80% of their guests choose to donate to the program. It is truly the rivers doing the work, the only cost to your business is the time to explain to your employees, and set up a recording method to reconcile the donations at the end of the season.

  • When you contribute to the Idaho Rivers United be sure to check with your employer about matching gifts. Many local companies will match up to a certain amount of monetary gifts that their employees make to non-profit organizations.

  • You can purchase our items directly through IRU and the inventory is yours or you can set up commission sales with 65% of the sale items going back to IRU. We would be happy to work to create mutually branded products.

  • Clean water is absolutely essential for great brewing! If you are a brewery, winery, coffee, or coffee brewing company, check out the Brewshed Alliance page for more information.

  • Clean water is essential to the Aveda company which has been working to protect clean water since 1978. “Access to clean water changes the lives of individuals, their communities, and in turn, the world. Aveda salons and their guest around the world raise awareness and funds for clean water each year during Earth month. Go to our Aveda page for more info on IRU’s Aveda salon partnership.
