Idaho Rivers United Organizes Cleanup Event in Coeur d’Alene
Community members invited to volunteer on October 10 to clear trash along Lake Coeur d’Alene and the Spokane River, followed by an appreciation social event.
COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Idaho Rivers United (IRU) today announced its first-ever community cleanup in Coeur d’Alene, scheduled for Saturday, October 10. In partnership with the Kootenai Environmental Alliance, Friends of Tubbs Hill, and Coeur d’Alene Parks and Recreation, the organization invites local residents, families, and community groups to join in protecting and restoring the region’s shorelines.
The volunteer effort will focus on removing litter and debris from the beaches and public trails surrounding Lake Coeur d’Alene, as well as along the banks of the Spokane River.
"Idaho’s rivers and lakes are places where we connect, relax, and make memories with family and friends," said Lindsey Paynter, Volunteer & Engagement Manager with Idaho Rivers United. "We’re looking forward to bringing people together on October 10th to give a little care back to the waterways we all love."

Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026
Cleanup Hours: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Location: City Park Beach (415 W Fort Grounds Dr) and East Tubbs Hill Parking Lot (839 E Lakeshore Dr); meeting details provided upon registration
What to Bring: Participants should wear sturdy footwear. IRU and partner organizations will supply all necessary gloves, trash bags, and equipment.
Following the cleanup, volunteers are invited to attend an appreciation social from 1–3 PM at Vantage Point Brewing Co. The post-cleanup gathering will celebrate the community's impact and feature volunteer giveaways.
