STANLEY, ID - The Sawtooth Salmon Festival returns to Stanley August 22–24. This free, family-friendly weekend is centered around the 900-mile journey of salmon from the Pacific to their spawning grounds in the Sawtooth Valley. Presented by Idaho Rivers United and the Sawtooth Interpretive and Historical Association, this year’s festival will be the biggest in its 24-year history.

The festival will feature salmon tours, talks from experts, a hands-on fish dissection, kid-focused activities, art, and tribal dancing and singing. The full schedule is available online. There will also be raffles, live music throughout the weekend, and over 40 vendors and partners all gathered in support of salmon. The festival will be headquartered at the Mountain Village Resort, but events will be taking place throughout Stanley and the valley. A free screening of the award-winning film The Grand Salmon will be featured on the evening of August 23rd, following the 1,000-mile source-to-sea journey of 3 women to save wild salmon.

“We can’t wait to see people gather for this year’s celebration,” said Dave Womack, Communications Manager for Idaho Rivers United. “It has been two years since we were last able to host ‘Salmon Fest,’ and everyone is buzzing about the lineup, the energy, and the fun we have in store for visitors.”

Additional details regarding locations and camping can be found at SawtoothSalmonFestival.org. In addition to IRU and SIHA, the headline sponsors of the Sawtooth Salmon Festival are the Stanley Chamber of Commerce and Visit Idaho.
